Dubai Priyadarshini - a socio-cultural organization established in 1982 and also a founder member of ICWC – a body under the patronage of Consul General of India. We are associated with” UMA” since its formation and always extended our whole hearted support for organizing various functions under this umbrella. As a social organization, Our primary aim is to reach out to the most distressed segment of our fellow workforce and rejuvenate them with our limited resources. When we emphasis the term “Cultural”, it generally refers to the patterns of human activity. It is the way of life for a society. Our strategy is to play a significant role to support the above category without much media publicity. We believe that what we say or do in the hallowed portals of charity will have the bearing on the destiny of these people and also the society around us.
In order to strengthen our attempt to encourage the young generation, a prestigious award called “Priyadarshini Gold Medal” was constituted in the year 1986 for the toppers in the 10th and 12th class examinations. This year 25 students from various schools in the UAE were honoured with gold medals and a special event called “KAVYA SANDHYA & MERIT EVENING was also organized in connection with the same on 3rd June, 2011 at Marcopolo Hotel , Dubai.
Onam -the harvest festival of Kerala is a part of the cultural repertoire of every Keralite. It brings back the nostalgic memories of a golden period of prosperity and equality under the reign of King Mahabali. Though we are missing the real essence of Onam celebrations back in Kerala now, we, the expatriate community is trying to get the reminiscence here in Dubai.
We extend our unflinching support to UMA for making it a grand celebration and wish a happy and prosperous Onam to all Malayalees in the UAE.
